This petite artwork features the tiny centrolepis strigosa which grows only a few centimetres in size. Hidden in grasslands and heath this beautiful native is found radiating out from Melbourne to most corners of Australia. Its tufted form is reminiscent of a bouquet on a miniature scale.

Centrolepis Form I has been created with an alluring palette of bold magentas and browns to enhance the native plant’s natural outline. It is cradled with a ribbon of muted green – a colour drawn from its tiny leafy sprays. When hung with its sister piece Centrolepis Form II the works create a sense of balance through their organic repetition.
